I sit here reflecting on the short period of time that I got to spend with my son while he was home. Those hours were truly wonderful and I will Cherish them forever. I also would like to thank Sandi (whose brother is with the 1st/503rd who are currently deployed in Afghanistan) who sent some kind words to me and for the prayers she Say's for all the men and women currently serving. Oh, I should also point out that he husband is a Marine. Sandi! I will keep the men in your life in my prayers as well. Also to a mother named Vicki whom I feel a close connection to as she had the same experience while her son came home on leave and found herself slipping into her son's room to watch him sleep. I did the same thing and I am sure we both had very similar thoughts. Thank you Vicki for those warm words, you will be getting an email from me soon.

When I spoke to Alex today and he mentioned that he was going to hang out with Destined company at a local nightclub tonight. He mentioned that this would be his last night out before deploying downrange. Destined is a new company that he has been attached to.
God Bless them ALL,
A fathers love,

Larry,
I like this Blog spot much better..easier to follow.
Here's my best deployment advice for you...take adeep breath..and remember no news is good news. Communications can really stink sometimes, just remember they know you're thinking and praying for them, and thats what really counts.
Always be upbeat and reassuring when he calls, and never ev er let him hear you cry! LOL
Oh and most important..always let this Mom know when you hear from the company! :)
How long has your son been with 2-503...how old is he?
Prayers, vicki
